What You'll Need:
- 2 lbs. ground pork
- ⅓ cup Prohibition Pineapple BBQ Sauce
- 2 TBSP Smokey Mountain Sweet Rub
- 1 large sweet or Maui onion, sliced
- Fresh pineapple rings
- Swiss cheese slices
- Hawaiian buns, buttered
- Salt & pepper to taste
How To Prepare
- Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine ground pork, Smokey Mountain Sweet Rub, and Pineapple BBQ Sauce. Gently mix without overworking. Form into 6 even patties.
- Cook the Burgers: Grill the patties until they reach a minimum internal temperature of 160°F. Add Swiss cheese during the last 5 minutes to allow it to melt.
- Grill Pineapple: Grill the pineapple rings until they have nice grill marks.
- Caramelize Onions: In a medium sauté pan, cook sliced onions with salt and pepper until caramelized.
- Assemble the Burgers: Toast the buttered Hawaiian buns. Place the cooked pork patty on the bun, followed by grilled pineapple, caramelized onions, and any additional toppings you desire.
